Dr Jay Michael Kashkin is a former Assistant Clinical Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Allergy and Clinical Immunology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in The Bronx, NY.  He was involved in early research in HIV looking at fetal target organs of the virus.  Currently, he is a national lecturer and researcher in the field of hereditary angioedema (HAE), a rare genetic disorder causing unpredictable swelling anywhere in the body.  Dr. Kashkin has co-authored numerous articles on the topic of HAE and presented at national meetings.

Born in Brooklyn, NY and growing up in Queens he attended NYC public schools and graduated from SUNY Stony Brook in 1979. After graduating medical school in 1983 from Universidad Centro Technicos in the Dominican Republic he completed a residency in pediatrics and a fellowship in allergy and clinical immunology at The Albert Einstein College of Medicine. In 1989, Dr Kashkin opened a private allergy and immunology practice splitting time between the office and research at Einstein.  He was a board member of the American Lung Association in NJ from 1989-1999 volunteering at "Camp Super Kids" for children with asthma.

Dr Kashkin has received numerous "Top Doc" awards both locally and nationally.

Today, Dr Kashkin treats "kids" from four weeks of age to 95 years with allergic disorders including food allergies, eczema, asthma and asthma in the competitive athlete (Dr Kashkin has asthma and played baseball in college). Additionally, he cares for patients with immune deficiencies, recurrent infections and urticaria and angioedema.

Dr Kashkin lives in Northern New Jersey with his wife Nancy.  Dr Kashkin's hobbies include working out, marshal arts; including Krav Maga, He also loves electric guitar and traveling.  He is die-hard Yankees, Giants and Rangers fan.
